Routine Prints helps consumers compare online printing services and products without turning every purchase into a course in print production. Our conclusions are based on the evidence available for the specific topic. We distinguish provider-published information, cited research or professional guidance, documented firsthand work, customer experience signals and editorial judgment.
How we choose and assess sources
For company-specific facts, we prioritize current first-party documentation such as product pages, material specifications, pricing tools, help centers and published policies. Supplier statements are identified as published claims rather than treated as proof of real-world performance. Technical, safety or regulatory points may require primary research, standards, government sources or guidance from relevant professional organizations. Secondary reporting and community discussions can add context, but they do not override more direct evidence.
How products and services are evaluated
Our criteria change with the buying decision. Depending on the category, we may assess print quality, paper feel, finish, sharpness, color handling, binding, trim quality, design software, proofing, packaging, price, delivered value, production time, carrier transit and customer support. A photo book comparison may emphasize binding and layflat behavior, while a business-card review may give more weight to stock, finish and trim. Routine Prints does not apply one universal numerical score to every category.
Research versus firsthand work
Hands-on findings appear only when the documented review record supports the order, sample, test or interaction being described. Research-based work does not imply that we physically handled a product. In those articles, recommendations come from current specifications, comparable pricing, documented features, credible sources and editorial analysis. Customer reports may reveal recurring concerns worth examining, but individual experiences are not treated as controlled tests.
Current facts and important limits
Prices, promotions, materials, product menus, software features, turnaround estimates, shipping terms, guarantees and policies can change. We check these details when preparing or updating relevant coverage and use dates when timing affects the conclusion. Production time and carrier transit are considered separately, and promotional prices are not presented as permanent rates.
Evidence can still be incomplete. Published specifications cannot establish how every order will look or arrive, and one documented sample cannot represent every production run. Recommendations therefore identify the use case and tradeoff behind the verdict rather than declaring a universal winner. More detail appears in our Editorial Policy and Trust & Transparency page.
